Rotobrush Coil Cleaning: The West Palm Beach Owner’s Guide
Rotobrush coil cleaning in West Palm Beach typically runs $140 to $260 for a full interior and exterior coil cleaning on a Rotobrush air duct cleaning system, and we stock the cleaning solutions and tools on our trucks for same-visit service. Most owners discover the problem when suction drops mid-job or the system starts leaving visible debris behind. The coils on a Rotobrush build up a film of dirt, oil, and fine dust that hardens under Florida humidity, and once that layer forms, the brush head can’t agitate properly and the vacuum can’t pull.
We’re an independent Rotobrush service provider in West Palm Beach, not a factory outlet, and we work on these systems every week. Marcus Veale has pulled coils out of Rotobrush units across Flamingo Park, El Cid, and the neighborhoods off Southern Boulevard, and the failure pattern is almost always the same: coils that look fine on the outside but are caked solid inside the fin channels. If you’re noticing weak suction, overheating, or a musty smell when the machine runs, the coil is the first thing we check.
Which Rotobrush Models This Applies To
Rotobrush has used a few different coil configurations over the years, and the cleaning approach depends on which series you’re running. The original AiR+ and the mid-generation R5000 models use a compact aluminum coil that sits behind the primary filter housing, while the newer Rotobrush aiR+ XLi and the commercial BD series run larger coils with tighter fin spacing. The tighter the fin spacing, the faster they clog, and the more aggressive the cleaning chemistry needs to be.
There’s one compatibility gotcha worth knowing before you buy a generic cleaning kit: Rotobrush coils from 2012 onward have a micro-channel fin design, not the traditional tube-and-fin layout. Standard coil cleaners that work fine on older units can leave residue inside micro-channel fins that bakes on the first time the machine hits operating temperature. We use a low-foam, alkaline cleaner formulated specifically for micro-channel coils, then flush with a low-pressure rinse. If you’re not sure which coil your Rotobrush has, look at the data plate on the rear of the unit. If the model number ends with “MC,” you have a micro-channel coil.

Signs Your Rotobrush Coil Cleaning Is Failing
- Suction drops noticeably after 10-15 minutes of run time. The coil is so packed with debris that airflow drops once the system warms up and the clogged fins expand. We see this constantly on units used in West Palm Beach homes with high-humidity ductwork.
- The machine runs hotter than it used to. A dirty coil forces the motor to work harder, and heat builds up around the housing. If the exhaust air feels warmer than normal, the coil is starving the system for airflow.
- You smell a musty or sour odor when the unit is running. Coils in Florida hold moisture, and that moisture plus organic dust creates exactly the environment where mold and mildew grow. The smell comes through the hose and into the room.
- Debris is left behind after a cleaning pass. When the coil clogs, the vacuum loses the negative pressure needed to pull loosened debris through the brush head. You end up doing twice the work for half the result.
- You hear a higher-pitched whine from the motor area. The motor is compensating for restricted airflow by spinning faster, which pushes it outside its designed operating range. That whine is the first audible warning before a motor failure.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included
A full Rotobrush coil cleaning in West Palm Beach runs between $140 and $260 for most residential units. The range depends on coil depth (the larger R5000 coils take longer to service than the original AiR+), how heavily the fins are clogged, and whether we’re doing a simple in-place cleaning or removing the coil for a deeper soak. Parts are always priced separately and itemized before we start. You’ll see the coil cleaning labor, any cleaning chemistry, and any replacement seals or gaskets as their own line items.
We don’t quote a per-vent price or a teaser rate. The price Marcus gives you on the phone is the same price on the invoice, in writing, before any work begins. Every coil cleaning is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the coil clogs or the system underperforms within a year of our service, we come back and make it right at no charge. That’s a written commitment, not a verbal one.

There are a few things you can safely check yourself. Pull the filter housing and look at the coil face. If you see visible fuzz, hair, or a dust blanket on the front, you’ll need more than a can of compressed air. You can also run the unit for five minutes with the hose disconnected and feel the exhaust. Weak exhaust equals a clogged coil. But here’s where DIY goes wrong: the coil sits in a pressurized housing, and the wrong cleaner or too much water can push debris deeper into the fins or short the motor. We’ve repaired more than one Rotobrush that a well-meaning owner damaged with a garden hose.
If the coil is showing any of the failure signs above, call us at (728) 231-8154. Marcus will ask what model you’re running and what you’re seeing, give you a firm price before we come out, and we’ll have the right chemistry on the truck when we arrive.
FAQs
A standard in-place coil cleaning takes 45 to 75 minutes once our technician is set up. A deep cleaning with coil removal takes closer to two hours. We’ll tell you the expected time when you call, and we don’t rush the job to hit a time target.
Most of the time, no. Coil damage from corrosion, punctured fins, or chemical damage from the wrong cleaner usually means replacement. A heavily clogged coil can often be cleaned and restored, but bent or corroded fins don’t come back. We’ll show you the coil before recommending anything, and you get the final call on clean versus replace.
In West Palm Beach’s humidity, every 6 to 12 months depending on how heavily the system is used and what you’re pulling out of the ducts. Homes with pets, recent renovations, or coastal air exposure tend to need it more often. We log the coil condition on every visit, so you’ll know if your cadence should change.
Yes. Our West Palm Beach trucks carry replacement filters, micro-channel coil seals, brush heads, and the cleaning chemistry for both older and newer Rotobrush models. We also stock parts for Lennox, Trane, and Carrier systems when the job calls for it. If your part isn’t on the truck, we’ll order it and schedule the install as soon as it lands.
We can identify it over the phone. The model number is on the data plate on the rear of the unit, but if you can’t read it or it’s worn off, Marcus can usually identify the series from your description of the machine and the hose configuration. Call (728) 231-8154 and we’ll walk you through it.
